Citizens registered as an Independent, Democra...

Such a wonderful honor for him and our country. How could you say anything else.

It is for his principles and what he wants to do. That is a good thing.

I think that this is a good start and that he is running into so much more opposition is a sad thing to say about the character of some people in the US today.

What kind of hateful, close-minded people would criticize an award by a worldwide organization to our own President.

Well these would probably be the same haters that would tell a kid who wins a spelling bee that you only won because you studied harder and that you don’t deserve it as much as the other kids who naturally spell words correctly. Really??

What the (&^@#insert curse word here) is wrong with these people. Are Republicans that evil? I know they prefer to have people suffer without insurance, but they even have to hate on the man when he gets GIVEN an award? That doesn’t even make sense. I don’t think he entered or campaigned to win it.. They nominate you and then some panel picks you. So I am severely confused as to why people still align themselves with such an outright evil (there is no other way to describe them) group as the Republicans.

I actually am registered, because of supporting previous candidates in various elections, as a Democrat and a Republican. I am an Independent. I choose based on the issues. But not anymore. I will vote Democrat. And for those Democrats that do not support what is for the good of our nations people I will vote for some third party. I have to say I am a little worried that people are not showing up as supporting the Dems (or Repubs). Mainly because you don’t leave supporting the Dems and then become a Republican. So I am a bit worried that these people leaving will lose all faith in the fighting power of the Dems and sign up for some socialist party in the hopes of injecting greater social morals into the US political arena.

I think that is what you will see in the next rounds of elections. And for those that think that young people do not go out and vote except for large elections. You are so wrong. And once you vote you take pride in that little piece of input you have into how your country treats you, your family and friends. You go to the polls. So after such a large young turnout, they had better redress what they think they know about who will vote.

Again I think it is wonderful that he is recognized for being a good human being on the planet today. And he does deserve this award and it is UNAmerican to not support OUR President in this time of personal celebration. It reflects on our whole nation as a big positive.

I am sure he is humbled. Oh yes he said that.

I hope he has better concentration and attention span then I do because he has a lot of thinking through to do, I am glad that he does not make snap decisions. I know that in the past he has made tough decisions and the good thing is that he stands by them afterwards, for better or worse. That is why he takes his time deciding. So he will not say that he did not know, or that there was bad information.

What has he done? With the Stroke of a Pen: Executive Orders and Presidential Power

  • Complete list and details here

Well it is so easy to disregard that he in his first day in office signed more executive orders that any other President in US history on their first day.

My question is do you want him to do more? Because with executive orders he could always take the easy way. But then that would make him a dictator. And he is a firm believer in our Constitution. he holds himself back because he is well aware of the power he has, not just here but in the world. He is very thoughtful about this.

There are many men and women out there who have done much for peace who deserved this award, but I think that one reason that Obama may have gotten it is because if America succeeds in changing for the better, in a more caring way, then it (we) can help others much better than a lot of smaller countries or individuals that may have been given this honor. It is a huge weight, and something that we had better try really hard to live up to.
